Q. What is a Producers role?
Being a music producer can mean discovering and helping shape the careers of award-winning musicians. However, it takes time, talent, training and contacts. That's because a music producer has plenty of responsibilities during an album's production, both on the creative and the business sides. The producer supervises all aspects of the recording process, from helping to select songs to contracting with session players, selecting the studio and engineers, booking studio time and overseeing the recording budget. In short a good professional producer will save you money in the long run, push the limits of your talent, and help put you on the right track towards making your dream of being an artist coming true. The rest is up to you.
Why do i need a Producer?
A producer will not only help polish and bring out your talents as an artist but they can also help you take your craft to the next level by creating new challenges and expanding your awareness of your talent.
If I work with a producer will every song we do be a hit?
Most artist will do more than one song with a producer and like the creative process itself artist and producer need to create a synergy in order for the hits to start rolling. The more experience the producer has the more painless the process and the more likely the results will be closer to the bulls eye!
Why do some producers charge more than others and why is there such differences in fees?
The production budget is based on two aspects, the producers fees, and the production budget. The cost to produce a song may vary based on the size and difficulty of the project. The performance of the artist, number and type of instruments and musicians, the quality and the recording style, plus the studio costs and down time for whatever reason are only a few of the variables that can determine the size of the budget. The producer charges for his expertise, experience and talent. Most times it’s financially more viable going with an experience producer and their fees than having to going through two or three different unknown producers which may end up costing the artist more in time and money not to mention what it may do to the artist and the whole creative process.
